Playstation Unveils PS3 Update 2.30 With Blu-Ray Audio

Good news for those who love video games and particularly the Playstation, as Sony just unveiled PS3 Update 2.30.

Boomtown writes that this PS3 update 2.30 is “the fabled update that uses a brand new software (rather than web) based PlayStation Store that is faster, smoother, and provide previews of content. It looks much like the SingStar in-game shop, and we like it a lot.”

An important cool feature in PS3 update 2.30 is the compatibility of the  Master Audio output with Blu-ray videos and DTS-HD audio.

VGblogger.com reports that in the PS3 update 2.30 version “The home page’s eight menu categories — New Releases, Downloadable Games, View All by Title, Add-ons, Demos, Videos, Themes & Wallpapers and Featured Items — make tracking down choice items a breeze, and the whole interface itself looks a lot slicker and loads like a million times faster than the old store. Another small touch that I really like is this little red shopping bag icon that is placed in the corner of the menu tiles marking items you’ve already downloaded.”
